Senior Product Analytics Engineer

WHAT IS TIMELEFT?

Timeleft is more than an app: it’s a revolution against loneliness in big cities. Our unique concept of dinners with strangers has quickly become a weekly highlight in major cities, offering a real human connection.

Every Wednesday, we bring together over 30,000 strangers to share a meal in more than 200 cities across 53 countries. As we expand our reach, we invite dynamic people to join us on this adventure.

MEET THE DATA TEAM

We’re a fast-growing team building a truly data-driven culture. Using a modern stack (BigQuery, DBT, PostHog, AppsFlyer, Lightdash, Dagster), we turn raw data into real-world impact on product, marketing, operations, and growth. You’ll be working with our Head of Data & Strategy, and two other Analytics Engineers, in direct collaboration with teams across the company.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

We’re looking for a Senior Product Analytics Engineer who loves turning data into action. You’ll sit at the intersection of data and growth, helping us understand how users discover Timeleft, engage with the product, and keep coming back for more.

This role is for someone analytical but also business-minded, comfortable owning pipelines, but just as excited about influencing strategy.

Core Responsibilities :

  • Product Specialisation: Collaborate with the product team to enhance the mutual value created between Timeleft and its users. Use insights relating to acquisition, retention, and LTV to validate and influence the design of Timeleft and Timeleft experiences.
  • Project Collaboration: Work directly with product managers and full-stack engineers to implement our product roadmap.
  • Event Tracking Plan: Take ownership of our web and in-app event tracking plan. Facilitate their instrumentation together with our full-stack engineers.
  • Analytics Engineering: Take ownership of the data pipelines you work with the most, with the support of your analytics engineer colleagues. Maintain data models according to DBT best practices. Collaborate with the data team in evolving mature data pipelines.
  • Analysis & Insights: Analyse clean and dirty datasets across business functions to surface trends, anomalies, and optimisation levers.
  • Experimentation: Propose and facilitate experiments to accelerate sustainable revenue creation.
  • Reporting & Visualisation: Design and maintain clear, actionable dashboards using tools like Lightdash and PostHog. Frequently share quality reports with stakeholders.
  • Tooling & Automations: Utilise internal tools and explore ways to automate recurring tasks, enabling scalable data access for everyone.
  • Forecasting & Modelling: Contribute to growth forecasts and predictive models. A background in statistics is a plus, but a strong learning appetite is just as important.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Must-Haves

  • Understanding of growth funnels and retention metrics
  • Previous work with product or marketing teams
  • Strong SQL (joins, CTEs, window functions, data cleaning).
  • Experience with a modern data stack (DBT, BigQuery, GitHub, PostHog, and equivalents).
  • Comfortable presenting insights to both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Familiarity with Event Analytics and BI tools.
  • Reverse ETL and CRM integration

Nice-to-Haves (or Ready-to-Learn)

  • DBT-native BI tools (e.g., Lightdash)
  • Python for data analysis
  • Experience building small internal tools

Expérience

  • 3+ years in a product data role, ideally in a tech company (SaaS, eCommerce, consumer app).
  • A degree in a quantitative field is a plus—but not a deal-breaker.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

  • A front-row seat in an exciting, fast-growing start-up.
  • Employee stock options.
  • Be part of the data team and report directly to the Head of Data & Strategy.
  • The opportunity to develop your position and responsibilities as Timeleft grows.
  • Please join us for Timeleft dinners and see firsthand the impact we have on people’s lives.
  • Help fight the loneliness epidemic in big cities.
