In just a few years, ChapsVision has established itself as a European reference in Big Data and Artificial Intelligence. Its ambition is to enable companies and public organizations to exploit their data in a sovereign, secure and intelligent way. Founded in 2019, backed by Bpifrance, with 25+ acquisitions, 1,000+ enterprise and government clients (ministries, police, gendarmerie, luxury, retail) and an international presence across Canada, the US, Morocco, Belgium, Japan, Germany and Spain. Everything is built on ArgonOS, ChapsVision’s large-scale data processing platform, powering an AI suite for enterprises (CRM, Marketing Automation, Unified Commerce, Analytics) and sovereign solutions for strategic public actors in defense, intelligence and cybersecurity.
The role
To support the deployment and adoption of our platforms at client sites, we are strengthening our Professional Services team with a key role: Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE). The FDE is an engineer deployed close to client teams, responsible for transforming complex business problems into concrete, operational technical solutions built on our existing platforms. The role is a hybrid one at the intersection of software engineering, data, and a deep understanding of business challenges — distinct from both pure consulting (you implement the solutions yourself) and classic product development (you work on specific, real-world use cases).
Missions
1. Business immersion and operational understanding
- Work directly with client teams (business, IT, decision-makers).
- Understand existing processes and organizational, regulatory and operational constraints.
- Identify major pain points and high-impact use cases.
- Explore the client’s data environments to map sources and their quality.
2. Design and implementation of software solutions
- Configure and compose our platforms to meet specific client needs.
- Design and implement end-user-oriented workflows.
- Write production-grade code and configurations, integrated into existing environments.
3. Field delivery and continuous iteration
- Work in short cycles with direct user feedback.
- Adjust solutions based on real usage and observed constraints.
- Tackle concrete topics: data quality, performance, security, governance, IS integration.
- Support client teams in adopting new practices. Success is measured by operational impact and adoption, not only technical delivery.
4. Contribution to product improvement and pre-sales
- Relay field learnings to Product and Engineering teams.
- Help strengthen the robustness, genericity and scalability of the platform.
- Occasionally take part in demonstrations, scoping workshops and pre-sales phases.
Profile
Hard skills: Solid experience in software development, data engineering, or deployment of complex software platforms; ability to write production-level code and configurations; good understanding of distributed systems, APIs and data pipelines; professional English required.
Soft skills: Strong intellectual curiosity and taste for solving complex problems; ability to engage with varied stakeholders (business, technical, decision-makers); autonomy, sense of responsibility and initiative; pragmatic, impact- and results-oriented approach; comfort in demanding, sometimes ambiguous or constrained environments.
